Memorial Weekend

Happy late Memorial Day to you all! Ryan and I headed up to Minneapolis on Thursday (also the day a beautiful new baby boy was brought into the world....yeah Hendrix!!) after work for a college friend's wedding. We went to Iowa first, then MN to break up the driving. We went out downtown in the twin cities on Friday to meet up with his friends and then headed to St. Cloud where he went to College for the wedding. It was a nice ceremony and then we headed to the hotel for the reception. Later in the night, there was a flood in the lobby....strange so we headed to the bars. Sunday, we headed back to Iowa and nearly got killed in a tornado. Not sure if you heard but a couple towns in Iowa got completely distroyed on Sunday. Ryan and I sure did not check the weather and drove right through the area minutes after the tornado came through. I was really scared. Monday, we went for a long run together and Ryan introduced the game of golf to me. I have putting down!!! And I learned some golf terms too. Anyway, have a good start to your week and I hope to see some of you at Kelly's bday party saturday! Ryan and I signed up for the Zoo run, 6 miles the next day. Hope we can make it!!! Cheers!

Triathlon....

One more thing....triathlon training officially starts today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No turning back now.... :)

Amy and Kristin turn 30!!!

Another fun but busy weekend!! And Happy Graduation to Ryan's sister who graduated from LaCrosse with her degree in Education this weekend.

Before heading out for the girls bday bash....I saw this thing in the Self magazine a couple months back about some workout on the park thing. It looked neat and you get freebies, etc... well Jenny came with me and it was quite interesting. It was from 11 to 3 in the park behind the Nature Museum. They had all kinds of short little sessions about 20 minutes each of kick boxing, salsa dancing, mini boot camp, yoga...so we did that and then walked around to get the free giveaways. It was nice and warm and I did not even notice but I got burnt. I was totally exhausted after and today, I am so sore, it hurts to breathe. The picture shows what it kinda looked like.

And now on the bday bash. Amy and Kristin had their bday at Sopo. Love, love their Sangria!! It was really fun and I have not stayed out past 2 in a realllllllllly long time. Not to mention that I had to work today....so today seemed really really long but it was worth it. Marina and her fam came too so that was nice. Still no baby!!! I thought maybe we could dance that baby out. Happy Bday girl's!!! It was a great time. Kelly, your next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone asked me if I was wearing a cow shirt. "Mooooo", I said.

Hottest Mama ever!!!!

Cubbies Again!!

On Tuesday, a bunch of us all made trips out to the Cubs game after work. It was a little wet but our 5 dollar nose bleed seats made us all dry, for the most part. It was great to see everyone since it has been a while. Becky had a bit too many beers as you can see below. Oh well. Baby Knuckles will know how to put them down....ha ha. JK :)

Happy Mother's Day!!

I am a day late....but happy mom's day to all you new mom's, older mom's, soon to be mom's and all the hot mama's!! I had to work mothers day(sorry mom!!) but we were able to celebrate this past Friday. I took my mom to the Peninsula Hotel for afternoon tea. (Thanks Marina). It was wonderful. On Friday's, they have a fashion show and some live music to accompany your tea. This past friday was a show on hats. Kinda funny. I just watched from our table. But, you get to pick your tea and then a 3 tiered platter comes with all kinds of little sandwiches and sweets. We were full!!! I suggest this if you are ever looking for something different and fun to do.

Nurse's Week

Last night I went out with the nurses to celebrate Nurse's Week at the new restaurant "Grotto" in Oak Brook. It is in the promenade. I thought there was only a Bolingbrook promenade, now there is an Oak Brook one. New shops and restaurants going up!! Very nice, has a man made lake and you can sit outside looking out to the lake. Again, with the world travelors below....the two in the middle are again off to Greece and Turkey in a couple of weeks. I am so jealous!!

Before I went to dinner, I went to Marina's and Carol was there helping to do some things for Baby G's room. Let me tell you how talented these girls are!!!!!!!! Carol made beautiful curtains. I can't handle how amazing they look and Marina painted pictures and a clock for the nursery. Seriously, they look adorable. Baby G......you got a talented mama and auntie C!!!

My first swimming lesson!

As you can recall, I signed up for the Sprint triathlon. I thought maybe it would be good that I take some lessons considering I have never been a swimmer. In high school, the thought of swimming made me ill but that was under different circumstances. So, I met with a personal trainer today at the workout center by the hospital. Al is his name. He calls it, "Al's sink or swim school". He used to be a highschool coach and line judges for races. Now, he is retired and trains on the side. He is a riot in a half. An older guy with so much wit! Let me tell you, he worked me today! Granted any kind of swimming would work me. He did an assessement and he prepared a log book for me. He asked if I was on any kind of weight program. My reply, "no, not really, I like food a lot. I just exercise, stay away from fast food, no eating after 7, etc.......ummmmmmmm hilarious....he meant weight lifting!!!! I was laughing so hard!! Any way, we will meet several more times and then he will send me on my own. It was actually fun and the best part....the water, WARM :) Sorry, no pictures, it was hard enough for me to learn on how to put on the goggles.
